Instructions for Setting up QuickBooks® Pro

1. Install  QuickBooks® Pro on  your computer. If you require the program to walk you through the setup process choose the "interview" option. Otherwise you may choose to setup your company manually. For new and inexperienced users the "interview" option is recommended.

2. Tax Info For this step you will need your tax ID number. Make sure to enter all your information including the fiscal year correctly as this info is used by the program.

3. Password setup Setting up a password is a good idea in a shared computer environment. At any time you can change your password or grant others access to your files.

4. Industry One of the great things about QuickBooks® is its ability to provide you with relevant charts and info based on your particular industry. If you do not see your exact industry, pick one that is the closest. It is changeable at a later time if it is not relevant.

5. Features Next QuickBooks® will ask you a series of questions about what features you would like to use the program for. These  include: inventory, payroll estimating etc. If you choose to use a feature later on that you have not enabled at this time, no worries as you can easily add the feature in the future should you decide you need it.

6. Start Date  Enter the date that is the beginning of your fiscal year. This will allow you to be able to enter any info all the way back to the beginning of the year. This is recommended even if the date has already passed.

7. Bank Accounts  Enter your all bank accounts, and pertinent  information. Should you decide later on to remove certain account(s),  you will be able to.
